Let’s split pdf.
Add pdf files to get started.
Three steps. One less task.
- 01
Add a PDF with no more than 500 pages.
- 02
Leave the page field empty for one file per page, or enter comma-separated groups such as 1-3, 4-6.
- 03
Download and extract the ZIP, then check the pages inside each part.
Good to know
Split PDF creates individual one-page documents. To keep a selected set of pages together in one file, use Extract PDF pages. Multiple outputs can be downloaded as a ZIP.
Split a PDF into individual pages or separate ranges
An empty selection produces a separate PDF for every source page. When you enter ranges, each comma starts a new output file: 1-3, 4-6 produces two PDFs containing those respective ranges. The result is always delivered in a ZIP, including when your selection produces only one part.
Page numbers count from the first physical page of the PDF, starting at 1; printed page labels may differ. Only pages named in your groups are included. Splitting copies page content without a compression target, and it does not guarantee that document-level features such as forms or bookmarks transfer to each part.
A few things you might ask.
How do I keep pages 1 and 3 together in one PDF?
Use Extract PDF pages and enter 1, 3 there. In Split PDF, a comma separates output files, so that entry creates two separate parts.
Why is my page range rejected?
Use whole page numbers within the document, commas between groups and ascending ranges such as 2-5. Zero, a page beyond the end or a reversed range such as 5-2 is invalid.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
This tool processes files on your device. Moving a file between Fitabyte tools uses a one-use browser handoff that expires after 10 minutes; abandoned handoffs are cleared on your next visit. Your original stays unchanged.
Can I use this tool on my phone?
Use a current browser and keep the tab open during processing. Available memory and processing speed depend on your device; start with a smaller file for large PDFs or video.
