Extract Audio from Video
Save a video's soundtrack as an MP3. Extract audio from a supported video directly in your browser.
Let’s extract audio.
Add video files to get started.
Three steps. One less task.
- 01
Add a video that contains an audio track.
- 02
Extract its soundtrack into an MP3 file.
- 03
Listen to the result; trim or convert it afterward if you need another delivery format.
Good to know
The source must contain an audio track. This exports the full soundtrack. Use Trim audio afterward if you only need a section of the recording.
Save a video's complete soundtrack as MP3
The extractor saves the full soundtrack as MP3 at 192 kbps and omits the video picture. There is no time-range or alternate-format selector on this page. Use Trim audio for an excerpt or Convert audio for WAV, M4A or OGG after extraction.
Extraction does not separate speech from music, remove background noise or generate sound for a silent clip. The MP3 is re-encoded rather than copied byte-for-byte from the source track, so keeping the original video matters when you need its original audio quality or other tracks.
A few things you might ask.
Why was no audio produced?
The source may have no audio track, or its audio codec may not decode in the browser engine. Play the original first and try a supported source export if it contains audible sound.
Can I isolate a voice from background music?
No. The extractor keeps the mixed soundtrack available in the video. Voice isolation and instrument separation are not part of this tool.
Which source files can I try?
The file picker accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and M4V. Sources above 250 MB are rejected. Codec compatibility and available browser memory also matter; a recognized extension does not guarantee successful processing.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
This tool processes files on your device. Moving a file between Fitabyte tools uses a one-use browser handoff that expires after 10 minutes; abandoned handoffs are cleared on your next visit. Your original stays unchanged.
Can I use this tool on my phone?
Use a current browser and keep the tab open during processing. Available memory and processing speed depend on your device; start with a smaller file for large PDFs or video.
