Remove the entire soundtrack from a video
Mute video removes all audio and copies the existing video stream into an MP4 container without re-encoding the picture. This differs from most other video edits here: it can avoid another picture-quality pass, but the source video codec must be compatible with MP4.
If the mute operation fails on a WebM or another container, convert the source to MP4 first and then mute that copy. The tool removes the complete soundtrack; it cannot mute a selected interval, remove music while keeping speech or replace audio. Keep the original if you may need its sound later.

Why can I convert a video but not mute it directly?
Conversion re-encodes the picture, while muting copies its existing video codec into MP4. A codec that cannot be stored there can make muting fail. Convert to MP4 first.
Does muting remove private information from the picture?
No. Visible names, faces, documents and captions remain. Review the frames separately; removing audio does not redact the visual content.
Which source files can I try?
The file picker accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and M4V. Sources above 250 MB are rejected. Codec compatibility and available browser memory also matter; a recognized extension does not guarantee successful processing.
