- 02
Keep the interval at 30 seconds or less, then create the GIF.
- 03
Check animation, framing and the actual downloaded file size.
Good to know
GIF has no audio and can be larger than modern video. Short duration and small dimensions keep it easier to share. Use MP4 or WebM for longer content or sound.
Turn up to 30 seconds of video into a silent GIF
The GIF export uses a fixed width of 640 pixels, a proportional height and 12 frames per second. It contains no sound. Start and end choose one continuous interval; select times within the source footage and keep the duration at 30 seconds or less.
GIF is useful when the destination specifically needs an animated image, but it can be larger than the source video. This tool has no target-size, width or frame-rate control for GIFs, and it can upscale a smaller source. Choose a shorter interval, or use MP4 or WebM when efficient video sharing is suitable.
A few things you might ask.
Why is my GIF silent and larger than the video?
GIF does not carry an audio track and stores motion differently from modern video formats. A shorter animation usually needs fewer bytes; keep a video format when you need sound.
Can I export a full one-minute video as a GIF?
This tool limits each selected GIF interval to 30 seconds. Choose a shorter excerpt or keep the clip as a video.
Which source files can I try?
The file picker accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and M4V. Sources above 250 MB are rejected. Codec compatibility and available browser memory also matter; a recognized extension does not guarantee successful processing.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
This tool processes files on your device. Moving a file between Fitabyte tools uses a one-use browser handoff that expires after 10 minutes; abandoned handoffs are cleared on your next visit. Your original stays unchanged.
Can I use this tool on my phone?
Use a current browser and keep the tab open during processing. Available memory and processing speed depend on your device; start with a smaller file for large PDFs or video.
